Testing of Hypothesis

Questions: 1. Select an appropriate test of hypothesis to determine if the mean water temperature is different between the two farms. You should include the following: (a) State the null and alternative hypotheses and explain how you developed these two hypotheses.(b) Use a suitable computer software and present the output from your software for an appropriate hypothesis test with = 0.05. List the test statistic you will use for this test. Explain your decision criteria. (c) Together with your earlier findings on revenue, execute your hypothesis test and conclude if water temperature seems to be a probable cause. (d) Discuss the assumptions you have made in performing the hypothesis test. Are these assumptions reasonable for this case? Please provide explanation/s to substantiate your view. 2. Highlight three (3) possible business or statistical concerns regarding the approach used here in determining whether the mean revenue is significantly different. If your group has a free hand on the pro ject, starting from measurements, sampling, to analysis, what recommendations would you give for the problem in question? Keep your answer within 400 to 500 words (indicate your word count). You must demonstrate well developed written proficiency. 3. Provide an executive summary of your analysis and findings on this matter to Mr. Suhaimi. Answers: 1. a) The null and alternative hypothesis is given as below: Null hypothesis: H0: The mean water temperature is same for two different farms. Alternative hypothesis: Ha: The mean water temperature is not same for two different farms. We can also write these hypotheses as below: Null hypothesis: H0: There is no any significant difference in the two different farms. Alternative hypothesis: Ha: There is significant difference in the two different farms. Statistically, we can write these hypotheses as below: H0: 1 = 2 versus Ha: 1 2 Here, we have to test the research question under study whether the mean water temperature is same for given types of farms or not. For this purpose, we developed these types of hypothesis. b) We used excel software for analysis for this test. Here we have to use the two sample t test for the two population means. The excel output for this test is given below: Calculations Area Pop. 1 Sample Variance 2.1102 Pop. 2 Sample Variance 1.3005 Pop. 1 Sample Var./Sample Size 0.0211 Pop. 2 Sample Var./Sample Size 0.0130 For one-tailed tests: TDIST value 0.0000 1-TDIST value 1.0000 Two sample t test (assumes unequal population variances) Data Hypothesized Difference 0 Level of Significance 0.05 Population 1 Sample Sample Size 100 Sample Mean 22.97 Sample Standard Deviation 1.4527 Population 2 Sample Sample Size 100 Sample Mean 24.45 Sample Standard Deviation 1.1404 Intermediate Calculations Numerator of Degrees of Freedom 0.0012 Denominator of Degrees of Freedom 0.0000 Total Degrees of Freedom 187.4364 Degrees of Freedom 187 Standard Error 0.1847 Difference in Sample Means -1.4800 Separate-Variance t Test Statistic -8.0138 Two-Tail Test Lower Critical Value -1.9727 Upper Critical Value 1.9727 p-Value 0.0000 Reject the null hypothesis The sample mean for Bintan farm water temperature is observed as 22.97 units with the standard deviation 1.4527 units. We get the following p-value for this test. Two-Tail Test Lower Critical Value -1.9727 Upper Critical Value 1.9727 p-Value 0.0000 Reject the null hypothesis The decisions rule for rejecting or do not rejecting the null hypothesis is given as below: If the p-value is less than the given level of significance or alpha value, then we do not reject the null hypothesis and if the p-value is greater than the given level of significance or alpha value, then we reject the null hypothesis. Here, we get the p-value as 0.000. This means, the p-value is less than the given level of significance or alpha value 0.05. So, we reject the null hypothesis that there is no any significant difference between the two farms or average or mean water temperature is same for two farms. d) We made the assumption that the populations for the both farms have normal distribution. We assume this assumption because for the large number of population for any variable, data have tendency to follow an approximate normal distribution. 2. Here we have to see different three possible statistical concerns regarding the approach used here in determining whether the mean revenue is significantly different for two farms. For checking this hypothesis, we have to use the two sample t test. The null and alternative hypothesis for this test is given as below: Null hypothesis: H0: The mean revenue is same for two different farms. Alternative hypothesis: Ha: The mean revenue is not same for two different farms. We can also write these hypotheses as below: Null hypothesis: H0: There is no any significant difference for mean revenue for given two different farms. Alternative hypothesis: Ha: There is significant difference for mean revenue for given two different farms. Statistically, we can write these hypotheses as below: H0: 1 = 2 versus Ha: 1 2 The statistical output for this test is given below: Calculations Area Pop. 1 Sample Variance 569656.4426 Pop. 2 Sample Variance 227399.9699 Pop. 1 Sample Var./Sample Size 5696.5644 Pop. 2 Sample Var./Sample Size 2273.9997 For one-tailed tests: TDIST value 0.0000 1-TDIST value 1.0000 Two sample t test (assumes unequal population variances) Data Hypothesized Difference 0 Level of Significance 0.05 Population 1 Sample Sample Size 100 Sample Mean 3628.998 Sample Standard Deviation 754.7559 Population 2 Sample Sample Size 100 Sample Mean 2936.502 Sample Standard Deviation 476.8647 Intermediate Calculations Numerator of Degrees of Freedom 63529892.4735 Denominator of Degrees of Freedom 380019.4030 Total Degrees of Freedom 167.1754 Degrees of Freedom 167 Standard Error 89.2780 Difference in Sample Means 692.4960 Separate-Variance t Test Statistic 7.7566 Two-Tail Test Lower Critical Value -1.9743 Upper Critical Value 1.9743 p-Value 0.0000 Reject the null hypothesis The sample mean for Bintan farm revenue is observed as $3628.998 units with the standard deviation $754.7559. The sample mean for Pinang farm revenue is observed as $2936.502 with the standard deviation $476.8647. For this t test we get the p-value as 0.000 which is less than the given level of significance 0.05, so we reject the null hypothesis that there is no any significant difference for mean revenue for given two different farms. Now, we have to test another hypothesis which is given below: Null hypothesis: H0: The mean other revenue is same for two different farms. Alternative hypothesis: Ha: The mean other revenue is not same for two different farms. We can also write these hypotheses as below: Null hypothesis: H0: There is no any significant difference for mean other revenue for given two different farms. Alternative hypothesis: Ha: There is significant difference for mean other revenue for given two different farms. Statistically, we can write these hypotheses as below: H0: 1 = 2 versus Ha: 1 2 The statistical output for this t test is given as below: Calculations Area Pop. 1 Sample Variance 104401.9724 Pop. 2 Sample Variance 79930.6597 Pop. 1 Sample Var./Sample Size 1044.0197 Pop. 2 Sample Var./Sample Size 799.3066 For one-tailed tests: TDIST value 0.0000 1-TDIST value 1.0000 Two sample t test (assumes unequal population variances) Data Hypothesized Difference 0 Level of Significance 0.05 Population 1 Sample Sample Size 100 Sample Mean 1071.475 Sample Standard Deviation 323.1129 Population 2 Sample Sample Size 100 Sample Mean 880.381 Sample Standard Deviation 282.7201 Intermediate Calculations Numerator of Degrees of Freedom 3397851.9270 Denominator of Degrees of Freedom 17463.3154 Total Degrees of Freedom 194.5708 Degrees of Freedom 194 Standard Error 42.9340 Difference in Sample Means 191.0940 Separate-Variance t Test Statistic 4.4509 Two-Tail Test Lower Critical Value -1.9723 Upper Critical Value 1.9723 p-Value 0.0000 Reject the null hypothesis The sample mean for Bintan farm other revenue is observed as $1071.475 with the standard deviation $323.1129. The sample mean for Pinang farm other revenue is observed as $880.381 with the standard deviation $282.7201. Here, we get the p-value as 0.000 which is less than the given level of significance or alpha value 0.05, so we reject the null hypothesis that There is no any significant difference for mean other revenue for given two different farms. 3. Summary for Statistical analysis:For testing the different claims regarding the data about the two farms namely Bintan and Pinang, we used some descriptive statistics and testing of hypothesis for testing these claims. We observed the following main findings regarding the data about the given two farms:1) The sample mean for Bintan farm water temperature is observed as 22.97 units with the standard deviation 1.4527 units. 2) The sample mean for Pinang farm water temperature is observed as 24.45 units with the standard deviation 1.1404. 3) For checking the significant difference for the average water temperature for two farms viz. Bintan and Pinang, We reject the null hypothesis that there is no any significant difference between the two farms or average or mean water temperature is same for two farms. 4) The sample mean for Bintan farm revenue is observed as $3628.998 with the standard deviation $754.7559. 5) The sample mean for Pinang farm revenue is observed as $2936.502 with th e standard deviation $476.8647. 6) For checking the significant difference for the mean revenue for two farms viz. Bintan and Pinang, We reject the null hypothesis that there is no any significant difference for mean revenue for given two different farms. 7) The sample mean for Bintan farm other revenue is observed as $1071.475 with the standard deviation $323.1129. 8) The sample mean for Pinang farm other revenue is observed as $880.381 with the standard deviation $282.7201.9) For checking the significant difference for mean other revenue for two farms viz. Bintan and Pinang, We reject the null hypothesis that There is no any significant difference for mean other revenue for given two different farms. 10) Based on the sum and mean for both Bintan and Pinang farms, Bintan has a higher earnings compared to Pinang. 11) Pinang has a lower variance and standard deviation, which means that Pinang farm, has more consistent earnings compared to Bintan.

My Heaven On Earth Essays - Testament Of Pope Paul VI,

My Heaven On Earth My Heaven on Earth I have this special room in my home, I can go to when I want to repose, or lose myself in a deep slumber. I can watch the sunset complement my bedroom with its gentle light, commending the color scheme, flowing through. Just occupying a space of mine brings me a special sort of self-satisfaction. I sit and reminisce about the times my mother and I painted the walls, the new linens, and bedding I have hung In addition, laid on my bed, or the pictures I have placed in their own particular order reflecting my own style and habits. My room is sweet like cotton candy, yet lazy and comfortable. Its color of a pale pink makes me feel like a little girl again. Along my walls, pictures of mature flowers remind me of how I have blossomed into a woman. The Stephen King novels that lay beside my bed, such an easy give away of my late night enjoyments. My love for beauty hides in every picture, every corner, even down to the dainty frill on my soft, floral comforter. Burgundy, my most adored color hides beneath my feet, dancing across my floor. Everything right in its place, just where I had left it, telling the story of the perfection I crave. Each breath I take fills me with the sweet scent of lavender. Along the side, you can feel the smell of fresh April showers. The doors of frosted glass and the sinks of fine porcelain accent the mauve marble flooring. The angels surrounding the bath give me the feeling of a pure and innocent, space of my own. I can stare into the night, through my skylight view. Each mirrored door that give me a sight, where no longer am I alone. After feeding my hunger for knowledge, I then turn on the delicate voices that sing me softly to sleep. I think my room describes me as a person in many ways, from the way I've matured, my favorite colors, to the innocence of my personality, or shall I say the angels surrounding my bath area. I hope this has touched your senses as much as it has mine. Though everything here in my room may be material; it still offers me the effect of being calm and at ease. Thesis and Dissertations

Baggie Chemistry Experiments

Baggie Chemistry Experiments Overview An ordinary ziploc bag can unlock a world of interest in chemistry and in the reactions within and around us. In this project, safe materials are mixed to change colors and produce bubbles, heat, gas, and odor. Explore endothermic and exothermic chemical reactions and help students develop skills in observation, experimentation, and inference. These activities are targeted for students in grade 3, 4, and 5, although they may also be used for higher grade levels. Objectives The purpose is to generate student interest in chemistry. Students will observe, experiment, and learn to draw inferences. Materials These quantities are suitable for a group of 30 students to perform each activity 2-3 times: 5-6 plastic ziploc-style bags per lab group5-6 clear plastic vials or test tubes (may be used instead of baggies)1 gallon bromothymol blue indicator 10-ml graduated cylinders, one per lab groupteaspoons, 1-2 per lab group3 pounds calcium chloride (CaCl2, from chemical supply house or from store selling this type of road salt or laundry aid)1-1/2 pounds sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3, baking soda) Activities Explain to the students that they will be performing chemical reactions, making observations about the results of these reactions, and then designing their own experiments to explain their observations and test hypotheses that they develop. It may be helpful to review the steps of the scientific method. First, direct the students to spend 5-10 minutes exploring the lab materials using all of their senses except taste. Have them write down their observations regarding the way the chemicals look and smell and feel, etc.Have the students explore what happens when the chemicals are mixed in baggies or test tubes. Demonstrate how to level a teaspoon and measure using a graduated cylinder so that students can record how much of a substance is used. For example, a student could mix a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate with 10 ml of bromothymol blue solution. What happens? How does this compare with the results of mixing a teaspoon of calcium chloride with 10 ml of indicator? What if a teaspoon of each solid and the indicator are mixed? Students should record what they mixed, including quantities, the time involved to see a reaction (warn them that everything will happen very fast!), the color, temperature, odor, or bubbles involved... anything they can record. There should be observations such as:Gets hot Gets coldTurns yellowTurns greenTurns blueProduces gasShow students how these observations can be written down to describe rudimentary chemical reactions. For example, calcium chloride bromothymol blue indicator heat. Have the students write out reactions for their mixtures.Next, students can design experiments to test hypotheses they develop. What do they expect to happen when quantities are changed? What would happen if two components are mixed before a third is added? Ask them to use their imagination.Discuss what happened and go over the meanings of the results.

The 4 cornerstones of great customer service - The JobNetwork

The 4 cornerstones of great customer service - The JobNetwork Chances are, if you’re interviewing for a position in customer service- whether as a customer service rep or another service role- you’ll be asked to define good customer service or to describe what good customer service means to you. This is one of the most typical questions (right up there with â€Å"tell us about your strengths and weaknesses†) for this type of position, so you should definitely be prepared to answer it- and answer it well. Don’t panic. Here’s a primer for how to tackle your answer prep for this golden question. Make sure your answer contains elements from each of these major sections.Awareness/ExpertiseWhatever the product or company you’re representing, it’s best to have knowledge of it inside and out. Thorough intelligence about what it is you’re selling or supporting is an absolute must to deliver quality service to customers, whether you’re dealing with books, food, drinks, technology, ads, widget s, websites, or designer shoes. Mention the pride you take in knowing your product and inventory inside and out–that’s how you help consumers make the satisfying choices that will keep them coming back.DemeanorFirst and foremost, good customer service involves  a good attitude. Greeting and farewell-ing customers with a warm smile or a genuinely friendly gesture are crucial for first and final impressions. Be sure to mention friendliness, helpfulness, and willingness to go the extra mile. Highlight how you’re not the type to just go through the motions, and how you’re willing to accept responsibility and blame and fix things whenever you can.EfficiencyIt’s not enough to just be friendly and pleasant; you also have to get things done. Mention how much you value your customers’ and your company’s time. Your promptness, reliability, and efficiency- particularly under fire- are all good to describe. Talk about how you have a deal with s pecific situations from your past in a timely and graceful way.Problem-solvingCustomer service almost always involves a bit of conflict now and again. Sometimes you have to deal with problematic customers, and sometimes you need to solve particularly tricky problems for customers as they come up. Paint yourself as someone who will think outside of the box for a solution, and be prepared to describe how you have done this in the past.Your ideal answer to this common question will cover all these bases. To sound well-prepared and interesting, make sure to throw in a real-life anecdote or two with good examples of just how you were able to practice these four virtues in the past. Then, tie it all together by speaking about how and why they contribute to your overall impression of what makes good customer service (and what makes you so good at providing it). You’ll impress with how well you prepared, and be one step closer to nabbing the job.

5B Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

5B - Essay Example This seems to be an inconsistency in her behavior. While it is true that she is probably a very naà ¯ve little girl, even toddlers are made aware of significant dangers to avoid, such as large wolves appearing from the forest. If she is old enough to take food to her grandmother, Little Red Riding Hood is also old enough to know better than to fraternize with wolves. An alternate goal of this story might be a classic set-up job. The wolf refuses to attack children in the village where the men can easily attack him and thus rid the village of the danger he poses. At the same time, it is known that the wolf prefers young children and he is likely to go after Little Red Riding Hood if she is sent off to her grandmother’s house. If the little girl is instructed by the hunter to first tell the wolf where she’s going, the hunter can be sure to find him, making it possible to kill him. If the hunter was obliged to follow a discreet distance behind Little Red Riding Hood to be sure the wolf didn’t attack her on the way to her grandmother’s house, not knowing the wolf would run ahead and await the girl at the cottage, this would explain his late arrival and his failure to warn the old woman. In the fairy tale Rapunzel, there is no clear goal as to why the witch might demand an unborn child in exchange for the theft of some vegetables out of her garden or why she might lock the girl up in a tower once she becomes of marrying age. Associations of her as the overprotective mother are refuted by her complete refusal of Rapunzel once she learns of the prince, which should have meant a happy match for her ‘daughter’. Earning a College Degree Essay Example for Free

Earning a College Degree Essay Earning a college degree has always been a very important goal of mine. My children are getting older and in a few short years will start looking into college themselves. It became more important for me now than ever to make my dream, my goal, a reality. There were many factors that came into play when I decided that this was the right time in my life to return to school. Being a non-traditional student, cost, flexibility, and accreditation were among the most important factors for me when choosing an online university. As my research into finding the right university continued, I found that Western Governors University had much more to offer their students than just an education. The financial aspect of returning to school was probably my biggest concern. I wanted to earn a degree, but didn’t want to be left with a hefty student loan payment at the end. Many of the online University’s that I looked into were â€Å"for profit† schools. Being inexperienced and new to this research I didn’t realize that there was such thing as a â€Å"non for profit† online University until I stumbled upon WGU. With affordable tuition, I knew that my dream could soon become reality. My children and husband are my number one priorities. They always have been, always will be. My time spent with them is precious and something that I would not give up for anything. The flexibility in classes and coursework that WGU offers has given me the perfect balance to be both a mother and a student. Since WGU is a competency based school, this allows me to spend less time on the material that I already know and concentrate more on the subjects that I am not as familiar with. Accreditation was another important factor for me. I didn’t want to spend the next 3 to 4 years going to school, spending countless hours reading and studying, only to find out that future employers would not take my degree seriously. Finding out that WGU is highly respected among businesses made my decision that much easier. There have been a few unexpected surprises along my journey thus far, with WellConnect being one of them. I never realized how much an online university could care about the health and wellbeing of their students. WGU also has some great mentors who not only offer encouragement, but push you to do the best and be the best that you can be. From my first inquiry of Western Governors University to now, I can say that, without a doubt, I made the right decision. I have finally found an online university who is just as committed to my success as I am. I would encourage anyone thinking about  returning to school as a non-traditional student to look no further than Western Governors University. With their low-cost tuition, flexibility, and accreditation to their amazing and caring mentors and their competency based program, WGU is definitely a perfect fit.

The Importance of Education in Preventing Prejudice Essays -- Importan

Ignorance is a huge problem, it is one of the biggest factors responsible for issues such as racism and sexism. Luckily, ignorance, generally speaking, is a relatively easy issue to fix. The obvious answer here would be more education, but this is not necessarily the case. In order to eliminate much of the racism, sexism, and other forms of prejudice that arise due to ignorance, it is necessary to look at education from another perspective: one that encourages togetherness and development alongside people of all races and genders. One quote by Grace Boggs book The Next American Revolution summarizes the issue perfectly. â€Å"Just imagine what our neighborhoods would be like if, instead of keeping our children isolated in classrooms for twelve years and more, we engaged them in community-building activities with the same audacity with which the civil rights movement engaged them in desegregation activities fifty years ago! ...Our children will be absorbing naturally and norm ally the values of social responsibility and cooperation at the same time that they are being inspired to learn the skills and acquire the information necessary to solve real problems† (Boggs 158). So, the main point here is that prejudice, against all sexes, genders, and creeds, can be eliminated via education that encourages cooperation with the largest variety of people. In order to understand this concept, it is necessary to look at it from a few different perspectives to analyze its viability in modern society. First, it is necessary to examine the current paradigm within education in order to determine exactly what it is about the modern system that requires changing. One of the most immediate concerns comes as a result of the school facilities the... ...r through the power of music, will not be forgotten. Racism, sexism, and other forms of prejudice are simply not acceptable in modern society, and the sooner they can be eliminated altogether, the sooner the world can truly advance. Entrepreneurial Organization Essay

In Business today the Entrepreneurial Organizations continue to grow, thrive and help change the way companies and people do business. These Entrepreneurial changes that happen internal to large organizations or at small start-up companies all have some of the same traits in common with each other and use some of the same tactics to create business opportunities. Some of the traits they share to promote their business are: Individual action and initiative, Innovation, Differentiation and Risk Taking. Individual action and initiatives taken by the employees within the organization are to create new product offerings or enhance existing products. These actions do not always succeed in creating revenue for the business, but might help start another product line that will create revenue in the future, but the failures of these products is not seen as a negative within the organization but are treated as growth and are seen as positive steps. Innovation is a primary and necessary building block for the entrepreneurial organization. There are 2 types of innovation that should be looked at, used, changed and viewed when using innovation and these are Product and Process. These types of innovation will create change in either a product or process but both are essential to using innovation within the organization and will be used to create new ideas, process and test new theories. Differentiation is another advantage that has to be used, displayed and shown for an entrepreneurial organization. This shows the advantage to customers and investors what unique good, service, talent and innovation that the organization has that makes the customers willing to pay a premium for their services. Risk taking from a large or small organization requires some sort of investment on the part of the company, either in personal resources or financial resources. The level of risk that the organization is willing to support shows the employees that the organization is willing and able to make changes if the risks are worth the reward. But risks must be taken in these types of organizations to create and discover new opportunities. In conclusion, these are four reasons why entrepreneurial organizations seek to use innovation to create new opportunities and are  some of the building blocks for many large and successful companies. With the landscape of business always changing, if companies are not willing to use innovation to try and create new opportunities they might not be successful in the future.

Media and Nursing Essay

The differences between nurses at the associate degree level verses the competencies of a baccalaureate degree level is skill and education. Skills and knowledge are needed to provide safe and competent care regardless of what level of nursing that you are pursuing. According to the journal, Associate degree level nurses are trained more so at the bedside level. The Baccalaureate level nurse are trained to think and critically and solve problems. The Associate level nurse are trained to asses and look for abnormal findings such as abnormal blood pressures, a CHF patient with a significant weight gain in twenty four hours. The Baccalaureate level nurses are trained to think critically and solve problems. Although both levels are required to use critical thinking skills to pass the state board exam, the baccalaureate level nursing goes more in depth on how to utilize these skills. The Associate Nurse basically provides care for the patient, this includes completing all activities of daily living, assessing the skin, obtaining vital signs, obtaining lab samples, starting peripheral lines or administering intravenous fluids. The Baccalaureate level nurse educate the patient and attempt to prevent worsening conditions, the baccalaureate level nurse also instructs and educates the patient to monitor their surgical sites for signs and symptoms of infections such as redness, swelling, or drainage and to report the findings immediately. The BSN advises and instructs the patient to report signs and symptoms of pain at the earliest onset. The BSN advises the patient on the importance of reporting these findings. The Baccalaureate Nurse is in most cases a charge nurse who deals with staffing issues and deals with unit emergencies as they may arise. A senior Associate level nurse may be a charge nurse based on years of experience, knowledge and practice. Although both levels must have clinical competence they have different levels of knowledge used in the practice of nursing. According to the Journal of Professional Nursing Issue in May 2008, the educational preparation of nurses must provide the necessary skills and foundation for graduates to practice at a level of competency and safety (www. library. gcu. edu). This writer has personally witnessed a BSN level urse; actually a couple, that are new graduates who are not competent. They were obtaining blood pressures and was not sure how to place the cuff on properly or where to place the stethoscope on the patient’s arm and then they asked, â€Å" how do you know which on is the systolic and which is diastolic. This writer was frantic but as an associate level nurse eager to assist these new graduates on the proper way of obtaining a blood pressure and they were very appreciative. In thinking about this question further about entry into practice, I had to do some reflection. As I come from an AD program, I have to say that for the time (graduated 2007), and for the expectations of entry-level RN practice at that time, I received the most complete and comprehensive education that I could have ever asked for at Florida Gateway College in Lake City, Florida. I knew I was prepared to begin working as a safe, competent professional and I quickly learned as I worked alongside new BSN graduates that I was more clinically prepared in many ways. That being said, I also knew that if I wanted to have more choice with regard to my future, I would have to pursue at minimum a BSN. So, I find a definitive answered to the question posed to be difficult. Regarding ENTRY into practice, I believe that an AD program prepared nurse can be a huge asset to nursing practice, and in many ways is more prepared now than even I was with regard to some issues (e. g. : critical thinking and competency and skills). In light of the current shortage, as well as other issues, the reality is that AD program graduates are here to stay, due to the fact that they are geared for bedside nursing and the acute care setting is becoming more prominent. I do believe that if possible, a student should pursue BSN education in the nearest future to advance in knowledge and education, but there are often obstacles to that for some students. This nurse has enjoyed being at the AND level working closely with the patients at the bedside, working closely with the Primary Care Providers and all of the members of the Interdisciplinary team, but now I feel that there are more marketable opportunities as a BSN level nurse. At the end of the day it does not matter what level nursing you are on, you must keep the patient’s best interest as far as safety and education level at heart. The more you enhance and advance your knowledge the more you can teach your patients about prevention and safety. The health care field is however becoming more demanding as far as medically and requiring employees to be technology savvy. So to summarize, the AND level nurse is trained for the bedside and the BSN level nurse is trained more so to think critically and to solve problems.

Fishers essays

Fishers essays The coniferous forests within Alaska, Canada and the United States are home to a blackish brown weasel looking creature. Its eastern range extends as far south as New York. In the western United States, it ranges as far south as the mountainous portions of central California and Utah. Fast on the ground and in trees, it is a wonder that this animal is not better known to us. This animal is named the fisher. No one really knows how this strange mammal got its name. It has a few names that it is called by, such as, Fisher Marten, Fisher Cat, Pennants Marten Cat, tha-cho (Big Marten), Black Cat, and Pekan. According to one story, the fisher got its name from the pioneers, who used fish to bait traps. The fish were being stolen by a dark-colored animal, which they named fisher. (Pringle, 2) The fisher is a member of the weasel family, Mustelidae, in the order Carnivore. It is classified as Martes pennanti. It has dark brown, glossy fur, which gets white tipped as the fisher gets older. The females hair is darker than the males. Fishers are carnivorous, which means they eat meat. They hunt on the ground and in trees. Their main sources of food are snowshoe hares, birds, porcupine, mice, voles, shrews, moles, squirrels and other small mammals. In the spring and summer months, they also eat frog eggs, bird eggs, carrion, and fruits and berries. The f ...

Walter Gropius, Short Profile of the Bauhaus Designer

Walter Gropius, Short Profile of the Bauhaus Designer German architect Walter Gropius (born May 18, 1883, in Berlin) helped launch modern architecture in the 20th century when he was asked by the German government to run a new school, the Bauhaus in Weimar in 1919. As an art educator, Gropius soon defined the Bauhaus school of design with his 1923 Idee und Aufbau des staatlichen Bauhauses Weimar (Idea and Structure of the Weimar State Bauhaus), which continues to influence architecture and the applied arts. The vision of the Bauhaus school has permeated world architecture- wildly influential writes Charly Wilder for The New York Times. She says it’s difficult today to find some corner of design, architecture or the arts that doesn’t bear its traces. The tubular chair, the glass-and-steel office tower, the clean uniformity of contemporary graphic design- so much of what we associate with the word modernism- has roots in a small German art school that existed for only 14 years. Bauhaus Roots, Deutsche Werkbund Walter Adolph Gropius was educated at the Technical Universities in Mà ¼nich and Berlin. Early on, Gropius experimented with the combination of technology and art, building walls with glass blocks, and creating interiors without visible supports. His architectural reputation was first established when, while working with Adolph Meyer, he designed the Fagus Works in Alfred an der Leine, Germany (1910-1911) and a model factory and office building for the first Werkbund Exhibition in Cologne (1914). The Deutsche Werkbund or German Work Federation was a state-sponsored organization of industrialists, artists, and craftsmen. Established in 1907, the Werkbund was the German fusion of the English Arts Crafts Movement with American industrialism, with the intent of making Germany competitive in an increasingly industrialized world. After World War I (1914-1918), the Werkbund ideals were subsumed into Bauhaus ideals. The word bauhaus is German, basically meaning to build (bauen) a house (haus). Staatliches Bauhaus, as the movement is sometimes called. brings to light that it was in the interest of the state or government of Germany to combine all aspects of architecture into a Gesamtkunstwerk, or complete work of art. For Germans, this was not a new idea- Bavarian stucco masters of the  Wessobrunner School in the 17th and 18th centuries also approached building as a total work of art. Bauhaus According to Gropius Walter Gropius believed that all design should be functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. His Bauhaus school pioneered a functional, severely simple architectural style, featuring the elimination of surface decoration and extensive use of glass. Perhaps more importantly, Bauhaus was an integration of the arts- that architecture should be studied along with other arts (e.g., painting) and crafts (e.g., furniture making). His artists statement was set forth in the Manifesto of April 1919: Let us strive for, conceive and create the new building of the future that will unite every discipline, architecture and sculpture and painting, and which will one day rise heavenwards from the million hands of craftsmen as a clear symbol of a new belief to come. The Bauhaus School attracted many artists, including painters Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, graphic artist Kthe Kollwitz, and expressionist art groups such as Die Brà ¼cke and Der Blaue Reiter.  Marcel Breuer studied furniture making with Gropius and then led the carpentry workshop at the Bauhaus School in Dessau, Germany.  By 1927 Gropius had brought in Swiss architect Hannes Meyer to lead the architecture department. Funded by the German State, the Bauhaus School was always subject to political posturing. By 1925 the institution found more space and stability by relocating from  Weimar to  Dessau, the site of the iconic glass  Bauhaus Building Gropius designed. By 1928, having directed the school since 1919, Gropius handed in his resignation. British architect and historian Kenneth Frampton suggests this reason: The relative maturity of the institution, the unremitting attacks on himself and the growth of his practice all convinced him that it was time for a change. When Gropius resigned from the Bauhaus School in 1928, Hannes Meyer was appointed Director. A few years later, architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe became the director until the schools closing in 1933- and the rise of Adolf Hitler. Walter Gropius opposed the Nazi regime and left Germany secretly in 1934. After several years in England, the German educator began teaching architecture at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As a Harvard professor, Gropius introduced Bauhaus concepts and design principles- teamwork, craftsmanship, standardization, and prefabrication- to a generation of American architects. In 1938, Gropius designed his own house, now open to the public, in nearby Lincoln, Massachusetts. Between 1938 to 1941, Gropius worked on several houses with Marcel Breuer, who had also immigrated to the United States. They formed the Architects Collaborative in 1945. Among their commissions were the  Harvard Graduate Center,(1946), the U.S. Embassy in Athens, and the University of Baghdad. One of Gropiuss later projects, in collaboration with Pietro Belluschi, was the 1963 Pam Am Building (now the Metropolitan Life Building) in New York City, designed in an architectural style dubbed International by American architect Philip Johnson (1906-2005).   Gropius died in Boston, Massachusetts on July 5, 1969. He is buried in Brandenburg, Germany. Theoretical Bases of Nursing Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Theoretical Bases of Nursing - Essay Example Therefore, it is the requirement of acceptable theories to be flexible and dynamic enough to keep pace with the growth and changes in the discipline in clinical practice (Barnum, 1998. 15-37). Nursing is now considered to be a discipline of knowledge that includes an array of facts, concepts, and approaches to inquiry. The discipline of nursing is acknowledged also to be a community of scholars that includes nurses in all places where nursing takes place, and this is indeed scholarship in the sense that it shares commitment to values, concepts, and processes to guide the thought and work of the discipline. Consistent with thinking of nursing scholars about the discipline of nursing, is the idea that it needs nursing theories more than anything else. Moreover, professional clinical nursing today is just scholarship due to the fact that nursing works, now, on a unique and vast knowledge base that has matured through phases of development. Nursing as a professional practice science that is dedicated to the problem solving for human health issues, calls for scholars who are accountable for understanding these theories and conceptual frameworks to be able to utilize them in gu iding practice, research, education, and regulation (Chinn & Kramer, 1995, 27-48). Boyer's analysis of schol... Teaching, in his opinion is not simply a matter of dissemination and transmission of knowledge, but a form of scholarship. Therefore, it would involve transformation and extension of knowledge through the process of critical debates and an insistent examination, investigation, and challenge of both content and pedagogy. His assertion, that this could involve analysis of "various kinds of academic work, while also acknowledging" their dynamic interactions in order to form an independent whole would enable one to look at nursing scholarship in a broader context, allowing it to be seen and perceived as an interrelated whole with distinctive components that opens avenues for a varied approach to knowing (Boyer, 1996, 1-6). Boyer is one of the pioneers in the recent times, who assigned a meaning to scholarship, and proposed that there are four different categories of scholarship. The most familiar of them is the scholarship of discovery which is very intimately associated with original research. As expected, this form of scholarship would call for deeper comprehension of research processes and intense involvement with activities emanating from that comprehension. According to Boyer, there are four different categories of scholarship. The first and the foremost area of scholarship is that of discovery. The scholarship of discovery is intimately related to original research, and this demands activities that enhance a deeper understanding of the methodical aspects of the research processes. The deeper understanding of the research processes would tend to answer the discipline's pressing questions. This specific category calls for standards, significance of the research,

Ways We Change Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Ways We Change - Essay Example Sometimes, the process of change takes place automatically and sometimes, one has to push himself to be a part of a particular change process as mostly, people are afraid of the consequences of the change and therefore are resistant to it. However, humans have to face the monster of change in every step they take. So, changing is an intrinsic feature of human nature. The foremost reason highly observed for being involved in the â€Å"change process† is, as human beings grow up, they get to understand themselves better; their likes, dislikes, feelings, values, preferences, environment and surroundings. All these things make up his mind whether to change himself or not. The living needs of the world, the circumstances around us and the prerequisites to survive in this competitive world actually pushes an individual to change himself in almost all the areas of life. The change process of anything can be divided into four steps; pre-contemplation, contemplation, action and maintenance. In pre-contemplation, one tries to resist the change process and not thinks about it. Then, in contemplation, one starts to think about changing by weighing the pros and cons of change. Afterwards, in action, one tries to take steps to adopt the change process and lastly in the maintenance stage, one tries to preserve the momentum of the change and tries not to dissuade the change. Human life is full of examples where he/she has to pass through the change process. Educational Traveling is one such example. Mostly, students have to go abroad for higher studies. They have to adapt themselves according to the culture, values, traditions and norms of that particular country and have to adapt themselves to their educational system. Further, talking about marriage, as one gets married, he has to go through an immense kind of change process; he has to mould his habits according to the likes and dislikes of his partner. He has to forgo his careless nature and has to be

The Pros and Cons of Using Encryption as a Key Technological Solution Essay

The Pros and Cons of Using Encryption as a Key Technological Solution to Corporate Security - Essay Example Moreover, the encryption can be employed to offer high level security to e-mail, network communication, data and information stored on hard drives or any portable or mobile disks, as well as other information that necessitates safety (Cook, 2000). This paper discusses some of the main areas and aspects of encryption and its main applications, organizational implications and the evolution of old and current practices. Application of Encryption Encryption is technique of translation of information and data into a clandestine code. Additionally, the technique of encryption is the most efficient method to assure data security. In this way, to interpret an encrypted file, we should have access to a password or else secret key that facilitates us to decrypt it. Unencrypted information as well as data is known as plain text; hidden or encrypted data is known as cipher text (Webopedia, 2010). An unbelievable development of the Internet has energized companies as well as customers in a simila r way through its assurance of altering the means we subsist and work. It is very simple to purchase and sell goods all through the world using a computer or laptop. However safety and security is a main distress on the Internet, particularly when we are utilizing it to transmit sensitive data and information among diverse groups of people (Tyson, 2010). In case of Encryption techniques we need to encrypt a huge number of secret information and data. For example in case of web based business or corporate data transfer we need some sort of sensitive and high value information like credit-card information, confidential communication, social security information, susceptible business details, personal details and bank-account information. In this scenario, the information security is offered on computers and over the Internet through a multiplicity of techniques. An easy and straightforward security technique is to simply put sensitive information on removable storage media similar to moveable pen drives or peripheral hard drives. However the majority well-liked types of safety the entire depend on encryption, the procedure of hiding and encoding data and information in such a manner that just the person (or computer) that has the decoding key is able to decode the message (Tyson, 2010). Evolution of Encryption In its first kind, people have been trying to hide certain data and information that they desired to keep in their own control through alternating parts of the information by means of signs, pictures as well as numbers. Earliest Babylonian merchants employed intaglio, a part of plane stone engraved into a collection of images as well as a number of writings to recognize them in trading matters. However, through this method, they are creating what these days we recognize as 'digital signature.' The people are acquainted with that a specific 'signature' having relation to this merchant, however just he had the intaglio to generate that specified signature. C ertainly, technology nowadays has developed at such fast swiftness that requires caring for information develops by decreasing the dependability of older encryption

Encountered some blam critic Wal-Mart to use this strategy against the employee benefits and fair pay, so many times waltmart cases of discrimination against them. But the people Wal-Marts efficient in the field of continuous monitoring of the human resources strategy, through the study of the employee, feedback and surveys necessary for the organization. 10 Career Education There are a number of Universities and Colleges to study in the areas of human resources management and related benefits. There are many new careers at wallmart , which engaged things related to recruitment, employment, recruitment and the interviews done in general, equal opportunities in employment or professional employment organization. Training is conducted regularly with the development of specialization by the trainers. 11 case studies: critical analysis of the human resources approach Walmart Wal-Mart, which is famous for retail in the U.S. A and the top retailers in the U.S. market. Wal-Mart is the rapid growth in the awareness that you make. According to the site Wal-Mart (Company, 2010) Wal-Mart serves customers and members in more than 200 million times a week in more than 8747 retail units under the flags of different countries, 5515. With fiscal 2010 sales of 405 billion dollars, 2.1 million Wal-Mart is working partners all over the world. Leader in sustainability, charitable companies and jobs, in first place among retailers, Wal-Mart impressive in Fortune magazine as most companies in the survey for the year 2010. Wal-Mart has the status of these substances can also see that Wal-Mart to buy large quantities of items from its suppliers to create economies of scale, and inventory control with an effective system to assist in making operating costs less than those of its competitors. It is also many goods imported from China, factory of the world for its low cost. In the word of the strategy at the level of the company from Wal-Mart, the low cost strategy with a little insulation. Wal-Mart managers and engage in three levels of strategic planning (Gary Dessler, 2005) in the business, and corporate-level strategic function. As for Wal-Mart, corporate and business level strategy to drive low-cost. From the perspective of performance management, to Wal-Mart has very high standards and strict job titles. In career management, Wal-Mart and also goes great efforts to reduce costs, and there are many cases that women Su, Wal-Mart to its policy of discrimination against women by systematically denying them promotions and paying them less than men. There are women who have been paid to the departments to lower FEMALE complain about unequal treatment of male colleagues. From the perspective of compensation management, has also showed Wal-Mart human resources policies and activities of the very aggressive to fit the low cost strategy. Wal-Mart imported $ 15 billion worth of goods from China, but also Wal-Mart has some of the factories in China, which branded products with the name of Wal-Mart. We can see just how Wal-Marts strategy of companies only extensively with integrated human resources policy. Wal-Mart workers in California to earn 31 percent less on average than workers in large retail as a whole. In fact, with other operating costs that put it on the highest level of inventory management, and managers must turn to the storage fees to increase profits, Wal-Mart is expected to reduce labor costs by two-tenths of a year. So, these aggressive policies of human resources, not just more, the fittest. From the viewpoint of the employee and the interest of safety, as well as human resource policies at Wal-Mart, which aligned well with the strategy at the corporate level. Often accused of Wal-Mart failed to provide employees access to affordable health care, but the senior managers and HR managers know their focus was just trying to implement most of the low cost strategy. Wal-Mart strongly against the policy of the Union. It was reported in the United Kingdoms Guardian newspaper that Wal-Mart faces the prospect of a messy legal battle with the messy GMB bruises in a row about the rights of collective bargaining, to the Union does not accept the Wal-Mart has withdrawn its bid to pay 10% to more than 700 workers. (Milner, 2005) and here there may be some doubt as to why Wal-Mart has recently allowed trade unions in their stores in China, where trade unions are required. I tried Wal-Mart in China every possible effort to develop good relations with the Government of China and other groups of influence. So make this the exception of China and Wal-Mart unionizations except in accordance with the overall strategy and human resources strategy. If the company has ignored the rule of the Chinese government, the cost is more than just what would be saved by not allowing the Organization of Trade Unions. We may evaluate the various human resources practices and systems, Wal-Mart best fit the organizations strategy for competitive companies. Then here is the role of HR managers in this company who are professionals with strategic skills of human resources and other resources needed to build a human-oriented strategy. Human resource managers in one of the technical departments of Wal-Mart, and tried their best to fit the companys strategy to reduce the cost low. They made some rules and policies, for example, the implementation of the policy against the Union in its stores to reduce costs from outside the EU, but to assist in the implementation of the lock in policies; tried to resist the deficit in the loss of efficiency. Should encourage women to discrimination by giving them a far less chance of money, and workers in fact mentioned in the Wal-Mart has also received a salary much lower compared with the average level of the industry. Try Wal-Mart human resources managers and also to control the conduct of staff and competencies that require the companys strategy through the actions and policies of the companys strategy in support of human resources, some of which may be adduced. Wal-Mart human resources managers refers to its employees as partners and encourages managers to think of themselves as servant leaders, and this is to encourage them to serve others while staying focused on achieving results in line with the organizations values and integrity. Wal-Mart also faces lawsuits alleging that the companys discrimination against disabled workers, to employ these men intended to provide more facilities for them and lost efficiency to some extent. They also faced charges of child labor. Also charges of discrimination of women. All of these types of human resources policies are not enough compared to international best practices approved by the Department of Human Resources in all good companies. Regardless of Wal-Mart to adopt low-cost strategy or differentiation strategy, and these policies and practices to achieve specific objectives to save any additional cost, but to motivate employees to increase their contribution in helping companies and even in shapin g culture. 12 Conclusion and proposals With the update that brought the introduction of computers and mobile phones, information and technological advances robots to support human life and the work it is easy to be good performance in any business.

Use of Metaphor in Tennessee Williams The Glass Menagerie Essay

Use of Metaphor in Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie In The Glass Menagerie, by Tennessee Williams, the glass menagerie is a clear and powerful metaphor for each of the four characters, Tom, Laura, Amanda, and the Gentleman Caller. It represents their lives, personality, emotions, and other important characteristics. Laura is the owner and caretaker of the glass menagerie. In her own little fantasy world, playing with the glass animals is how she escapes from the real world in order to get away from the realities and hardships she endures. Though she is crippled only to a very slight degree physically, her mind is very disabled on an emotional level. Over time, she has become very fragile, much like the glass, which shatters easily, as one of the animals lost its horn; she can lose control of herself. Laura is very weak and open to attack, unable to defend herself from the truths of life. The glass menagerie is an unmistakable metaphor in representing Laura’s physical and mental states. Amanda is also well characterized by the glass menagerie. The glass sits in a case, open for display and inspection for all. Amanda try’s to portray herself as a loving mother, doing everything she can for her children, and caring nothing for herself, when in fact, she is quite selfish and demanding. Amanda claims that she devotes her life to her children, and that she would do anything for them, but is very suspicious of Tom’s activities, and continually pressures Tom, trying to force him in finding a gentleman caller for Laura, believing that Laura is lonely and needs a companion, perhaps to get married. Like the glass, her schemes are very transparent, and people can see straight through them to the other side, where ... ...Laura. If he had been what Amanda had wanted him to be, Laura would have become happy and so would have Amanda, and then Tom would have been able to go his own separate way, being freed of his duties to his mother and sister. However, as it turns out, the shelf seems to have broken, because the gentleman caller actually ignites the greatest fight of all between Tom and Amanda, and Laura is left shattered after she loses whatever she had left within her because the gentleman caller turned out to be a disappointment. Although the glass menagerie is meant as a direct metaphor for Laura, it also serves as a metaphor to the other characters in the play through various means. They are all interconnected in some way, depending on each other, and when things don’t turn out right, everything begins to fall into a downward spiral, with little or no hope for improvement.

Health and Safety Assignment Essay

Question 1 The first statement is correct as lead is a highly intoxicated substance that can cause damage, especially in young children. There are many symptoms to lead poisoning which include: irritability, loss of appetite and nausea, headaches, unexplained abdominal pain, muscle aches, constipation, learning problems, short attention span, easily distracted, mental retardation and behaviour problems including aggression and impulsivity. As seen in the statement â€Å"this is disturbing because it has been well established that lead causes reduction in IQ scores, shortened concentration spans, hyperactivity and learning difficulties even when lead is present at very low levels in the blood† , it can be agreed that having lead in one’s system can cause damage to one’s concentration and learning abilities. Research has shown that raised levels of lead can lower a child’s IQ by 4-5%. see more:explain how to promote health and safety within the social care setting With regards to the second statement â€Å"painted toys with high lead levels have been found in major toy stores, as well as supermarkets, stationary stores, craft shops and craft/flea markets. These toys were both locally produced and imported†, it can be agreed on as lead can be found in many old housing and furniture pieces. It is also of great urgency that when purchasing toys and furniture from garage sales, internet, second-hand-stores etc. that one takes precautions in checking that there is not any lead as some may contain lead based paint, a simple way of knowing if it does is to buy a test kit to determine if lead based paint is present. Question 2 For a baby and toddler unit I would consider: Indoor: * Non-breakable mirrors to learn to see themselves. * Wooden cars for improving gross motor skills. * Rattles to improve their movement. * Plastic telephones to practise their speech. * Simple puzzles to improve their knowledge. * Large wooden beads to string to improve on their hand eye co-ordination. Outdoor: * Balls to improve on gross motor skills * Jungle gym to improve on their climbing abilities. For children aged 3-6 years I would consider: Indoor: * Puppets to improve on their dramatic skills. * Dress-up clothes to teach them the different type of career choices. * Art materials to improve their creative minds. * Books and puzzles to improve on their knowledge. Outdoor: * Tricycles and bikes to improve their balancing skills. * Jungle gyms to improve climbing. * Sand pits to do sensory knowledge, (touch and feel) Question 3 The way in which one would ensure that equipment which you purchased does not cause lead poisoning is by reading the labels on the purchased equipment making sure there is no lead contained in it, try prevent buying used toys and equipment from garage sales, internet, second-hand-stores as many old items may contain lead based paint. It is also advised that children go for screening to make sure no lead is present. Children are encouraged to practice regular hand washing and to keep their hands and other objects away from their mouths. Question 4 Birth – 4 months: at this stage the child eats, sleeps, cries rolls off flat surfaces and wriggles. They are hazardous to burns, falls, sharp objects and suffocation. 4 – 12 months : at this stage the child grasps and moves around as well as putting objects in their mouths. They are hazardous to burns, poisoning, falls and drowning. 1 – 2 years : at this stage the child is able to investigate, climb, open doors and takes thing apart. They are hazardous to being in contact with gates, windows and doors as they might get injured with their investigation minds, fingers might get stuck in door etc. also water is hazardous as they may drown, traffic as they now know how to walk. 2 – 3 years: at this stage the child is interested in fires, tires to do things by themselves and gets very impatient. They are hazardous to dangerous objects and burns. 3 – 6 years: at this stage the child lies to explore, climb, riding tricycles, rough games. They are hazardous to poisons and burns, falls and injuries, drowning and traffic. 6 – 10 years : at this stage the child like spending time away from home, active sports. They are hazardous to firearms, injuries from sports and drowning. Through this we can conclude that every one of these ages is vital as the developmental level can affect children’s safety and health and that they should never be left unsupervised and parents should know what to do in an emergency. Question 5 Air-borne transmission include in illnesses such as chickenpox, common cold, fifth disease, measles, mumps and tuberculosis. The measures one would take in these instances would be to identify the child with the illness and send them home, with antibiotics, the child should not be allowed to return to school until fully recovered. All these illnesses and the limitations of the spread apply to all age groups ( birth to grade 3) The faecal-oral route include cholera, rotavirus and ascariasis, can be spread through water, food and poor sewage, to limit the infection one needs to make sure water is clean, food is cooked properly and sewage is flushed away. Food only obtains to children who can eat solid foods, thus not referring to birth to 12 months. Direct and indirect include illnesses such as pinkeye, hand foot and mouth disease, cold sores, lice and ring worms. The measures one would take in these instances would be pinkeye: antibiotic treatment and sent home, continuous hand washing, hand foot and mouth disease sent home for several days and continuous hand washing. A cold sore child can stay at school but must was hands frequently. Lice, child should be sent home until lice is gone, hair must be washed with medicated shampoo. Ring worms, child should stay away from gyms, pools or activities where can be exposed and should use a fungal ointment. These limitations would all be considered to all age groups ( birth to grade 3 ) however gyms, pools etc would only obtain to the older children grade 1 – 3. Blood illnesses include AIDS and hepatitis B, the measures one would take for AIDS is excluding child of 0-5, and prevent anyone from touching the child blood, handle blood with surgical gloves, seal up blood infected items and disinfect surfaces with bleach. Hepatitis B one would also use precautions when handling blood and frequent hand wash is advised. REFERENCE: Marotz, L, 2009. Health, safety and nutrition for the young child. 76de uitgawe.
